How to Register for Classes

Preparing for 登记

 

  1. Log into BannerWeb-Student using your username and password
  2. Click on Register for Classes from the Student Landing Page
  3. Navigate to the 登记 着陆页
  4. Click on Prepare for 登记
  5. Select a Term from the drop-down menu
  6. 点击继续
  7. Check to see if you have any holds on your account.  Rectify those holds that will not allow you to register before it is your day to enter your classes
    • Note:There are some holds that you will see that do not affect your ability to register 对于你的课程.  Always 清晰的 the business office hold and the hold from your advisor 然后尝试注册.  If you are still unable to register then reach out to the office who has entered the hold.

  8. After reviewing the Prepare for 登记 page, you can click the 首页 button to access the 登记 着陆页.
你 will need to meet with your advisor to discuss your upcoming semester registration.  你r advisor will need to end your 登记 Advising Hold - UG in Banner before you will be able to go into Banner and enter your classes.. 如果你的导师不是 available, you may try to schedule an appointment with the department chair for your major or reach out to the Constantin Dean’s Office in Braniff.
Office of Finance (Business Office) 清晰的ance is required for early registration. 请 check for any holds from other offices that may prevent registration. 这些 holds could be from 金融援助, 图书馆, Student Life, and 注册商. 

A Hold can be put on a student’s account by various departments for different reasons. Some of the most common causes of a hold being placed on a student’s account are:

A hold can limit interactions within BannerWeb-Student. 这些 holds can limit Enrollment Verification, 记录请求s, 应用ing for Graduation,  Registering for Classes, Reviewing Grades, and Accounts Receivable transactions.

It's easy to view if your account has a hold prior to registration. 遵循以下步骤 below to check if you have a hold. If you do have a hold, you will need to contact the appropriate department to have the hold released.

  1. Log into BannerWeb using your username and password
  2. Click on the Register for Classes tile from the Student Landing Page
  3. 你 will 提交 with the Student Financial Responsibilities 协议
    • 注意:您 will only 提交 with the Student Financial Responsibilities 协议 每一学期. After completing the agreement, it will not appear again until the 以下术语. If you have already completed the agreement, the step below will not 提交.

  6. Enter your full name within the signature line (you can look at 顶部 of the page and it will show you how your name is entered in Banner. Use that as a guide if you are having trouble signing the form)
  7. Enter your electronic signature
    • 注意:您r electronic signature will be your last name and last 4 digits of your Student ID.
  8. Confirm electronic signature
  9. 单击Submit
  10. Upon successful submission, click OK to continue
  11. Once you have navigated to the 登记 Landing Page, click Prepare for 登记
  12. Select a term from the drop down menu
  13. 点击继续
  14. Within the 登记 Status page you will 提交 any potential holds and the limitations the hold impacts in BannerWeb-Student
  15. Once the hold has been released by the defined department it will remain as information only and not limit interactions within BannerWeb-Student (always check the hold date to see if the hold has already been released)

  1. Log into BannerWeb with username and password
  2. Click the Register for Classes tile from the Student Landing Page
  3. 你 will 提交 with the Student Financial Responsibilities 协议

The course catalog can be found in BannerWeb:

  1. Click on Browse Course Catalog
  2. From the drop-down menu Select a Term

  4. The basic course 搜索 criteria will 提交. 你 have the ability to 搜索 by subject, course number, and keywords. 你 have the ability to use a combination of 搜索 criteria to 缩小搜索范围:

  5. Once you have determined your 搜索 criteria click 搜索
  6. The next page will have the 搜索 results
  7. Course Title Link – When clicking the Course Title Link you will 提交 with course details related to the course
  8. View Sections – 你 can view course sections for the selected term where registration 是开放的
  9. Items per Page – This allows you to view more or less items within the viewing 窗格
  10. Columns – This allows you to personalize the results and viewing of the 课程. 你 can have all columns available, or select which columns you would like to be present when viewing the Browse Courses results page

  12. After browsing the Course Catalog, you can click the 首页 button to access the 登记 着陆页

  7. Click 搜索 to review related 搜索 results
  8. The results will be in a grid view with columns of Title, 主题 Description, Course Number, Section Number, Hours, CRN (course reference number) Term, Instructor, Meeting Times and Location, Campus, Status, and 属性
  9. After browsing available classes, you can click the 首页 button to access the 登记 着陆页

  1. Log into BannerWeb using your username and password
  2. Navigate to the 登记 着陆页 by clicking the Register for Classes tile
  3. Click on Register for Classes
  4. Using the drop-down list, select a Term that is Open for 登记 and click Continue
  5. 点击继续 to the next page to enter 搜索 criteria
  6. Enter 搜索 criteria to find 课程 you are looking for
  7. Select the course by clicking on the course title
  8. A pop-up window will open, where you can go to the Instructor/Meeting Times section to view the meeting dates and times (if applicable)

  3. Click on Register for Classes
  4. Using the drop-down list, select a Term that is Open for 登记 and click Continue

  7. Click 搜索 to review the related 搜索 results
  8. Review the results and click Add when you have identified a class section that will 配合你的时间表
    • Note: when clicking Add, the class section will appear within the summary section 待注册. 你 must click Submit in the lower right-hand corner to fully 注册课程. The field next to it when clicking submit, indicates the action 你要拿. For this example, the classes are pending a “registered” 状态.
  9. Once the class section has been added and pending registration, you can click 搜索 again to add another course
  10. After all classes have been added, you can view the tentative schedule in the schedule 窗格
  11. 单击Submit to register for the selected classes for the term
    • Note: All classes that were pending should now have a green Registered 状态 and the schedule should no longer be grayed out. If the classes do not have a registered 状态, you are not enrolled in the course.
  12. After successful registration with no classes in pending 状态, you may view your class schedule to the left

A CRN, or Course Reference Number, is the unique 5-digit number that is assigned to 每门课程. This number is used when registering for each of your 课程 and can be found in the Schedule of Classes.  The starting numbers within the CRN are configured 基于期限结构. CRN numbers will change each semester.

  1. Log into BannerWeb using your username and password
  2. Navigate to the 登记 着陆页 by clicking the Register for Classes tile
  3. Click on Register for Classes
  4. Using the drop-down list, select a Term that is Open for 登记
    • Note: Undergraduate students must meet with their advisors prior to registering and have the 登记 Advising Hold - UG hold taken off of their account by their Advisor which will then allow them to Register for Classes.
  5. Click on 登记 and click Continue
  6. From the Register for Classes 着陆页 click Enter CRN’s tab
    • Note: Prior to using CRN’s to register, you should have looked up the CRN’s of each class.
  7. Enter the CRN within the first CRN field
  8. 单击“添加另一个CRN”
  9. Once all CRN’s for the term you are registering have been entered click Add to Summary
    • Note: When clicking Add to Summary, the class section will appear within the summary section 待注册. The field next to it when clicking submit, indicates the action 你要拿. For this example, the classes are pending a “registered” 状态. 你 must click Submit in the lower right-hand corner to fully 注册课程.
  10. 单击Submit 注册这门课es
    • Note: Upon successful registration the Summary 窗格 will have updated 状态 of Registered.
  11. After successful registration and no classes are in pending 状态 you may view your class schedule to the left in the calendar view

重复的过程 – This error message means you are already successfully registered for another a section/meeting time of the same course or you have already successfully completed the course in a different term. 你 will need to remove the duplicate course before 添加新节. 

大学的限制 – This error message means that you have tried to register for a section that is only available to students admitted into a specific college/school (Braniff, College 的业务). 

Student Attribute Restriction – This error message means the class section is restricted to students with a specific student attribute (such as honors). 

程序限制 – This error message means the class section is restricted to students in a particular 程序. If you receive this message it means you are not associated with the 程序. 

队列限制 – A cohort restriction means that the class section is specifically for a cohort. 

限制类 - This means that you have tried to register for a class that is only available to students in specific classes (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior). 

封闭的部分 – This means that 一节/meeting time is full. There is no space available in 一节. 你 will need to 搜索 for another class section. 

必需的共同条件 - This error message means that the major requires another course or 课程 be taken 在同一学期.

程度上限制 – A degree restriction error means the class section is restricted to students in 一个特定的学位. 

水平的限制 – A 水平 restriction error means that you have tried to register for a class that is only available to students with a specific 水平 (Undergraduate, Graduate). 

主要的限制 - A major restriction error means that you have tried to register for a class that is only available to students with specific majors.

研究领域限制 – Major departments place restrictions on some of sections of their 课程. 作为一个 result, certain sections of a course are reserved for a particular major. 虽然 the course may be required for your major, 一节/meeting time you are trying to register for is reserved for students in another major. 如果你收到这条信息 you will need to 搜索 and register for another section that has no restrictions. 

Prerequisite and Test Score Error – Major departments may place prerequisite or test scores on their sections. 什么 this means is you need to successfully complete a lower 水平 course or test prior to registering for this section. 

Time conflict with CRN XXXXX – 你 are registered for another course that means at the same time as one you are 现在试着添加. 你 may not register for 课程 with conflicting times. 

Time tickets prevent registration at this time – 你 cannot register at this time as outlined by the 注册商's office. 还记得 registration times are dependent on the number of credits you have completed with 期末成绩.  Courses you are currently enrolled in do not count in the number of credits required to register in an earlier time slot.   3. Navigate to the 登记 着陆页
  4. Click on Register for Classes
    • Note: Undergraduate students must meet with their advisors prior to registering and have the 登记 Advising Hold - UG hold taken off of their account by their Advisor which will then allow them to Register for Classes
  5. Using the drop-down list, select a Term that is Open for 登记 and click Continue
  6. Enter 搜索 criteria for the class you are 尝试注册
  7. Click the class section tile to view more information about the class
  8. The Class Detail pop out will appear having more information about the class you are 尝试注册
  9. Review the following sections to identify any restrictions:
    • 属性
    • 限制

  10. After reviewing click Close and add the class section if there are no restrictions impacting your registration 
  1. Log into BannerWeb using your username and password
  2. Navigate to the 登记 着陆页 by clicking the Register for Classes tile
  3. Click on Register for Classes
  4. Using the drop-down list, select a Term that is Open for 登记 and click Continue
  5. 点击继续 to the next page to enter 搜索 criteria
  6. Enter 搜索 criteria to find 课程 you are looking for
  7. Select the course by clicking on the course title
  8. A pop-up window will open, where you can go to the Catalog section, which will display the available grade mode(s) for the course

云顶集团' information systems are configured to limit dropping of all 课程. In the event you are trying to drop a class during the registration process you inadvertently registered for and you have not registered for any other classes by hitting the submit button, you will need to add another class and then go back 放弃之前的课程. 

This error message means that the class requires another course or 课程 to be taken 在同一学期.  This message usually shows up when you are 尝试注册 for a class that has a lab associated with it like Biology, Chemistry, Physics or 数学.  你 must enter both the class and lab at the same time in order to be able 注册这门课.  If you only need to to be enrolled in either the class or the lab and not both, please go to the 注册商’s Office for assistance.

你r username will be the first part of your student university email address before the "@", and your password will be the same as signing into a computer on campus. If you have not logged into a computer on campus or have not changed your password, it will be your student ID number.

BannerWeb utilizes single sign on. Each time the link is accessed a new Security Assertions Markup Language (SAML) token is generated. If you want to bookmark the BannerWeb link you will need to perform the following steps to successfully copy the URL for bookmarking:

Go to Bookmarks within your web browser
Add new bookmark and name the bookmark

Using your Mobile Device with BannerWeb-Student

 

There could be two reasons that you are receiving this error. 第一个原因是 that you have timed out of the session you were previously logged into. BannerWeb has a timeout set at 120 minutes. After 120 minutes of inactivity you will be automatically 签署了.

The second reason could be that you have an active session that is trying to use a different SAML token competing against the current login. Only one BannerWeb session should be logged into at once if you are on a mobile device. 请按照以下步骤操作 below to assist with resolving the login issue.

  1. Exit out of all BannerWeb pages from your mobile device  Note: you will need to exit/close the web browser before continuing to the following steps.
  2. Access the BannerWeb-Student link
  3. Log into BannerWeb-Student using your single sign on credentialsNote: If you do not know your single sign-on credentials review the "什么 is my username and password for BannerWeb" from the above FAQ.
  4. After successful sign in, you will be able to navigate the Student Landing page and access the links needed to complete your session

If you are unable to sign into Banner Web and receive an error message, try 清晰的ing 你的浏览记录.  说明如下.  When troubleshooting issues with any site, always exit your browser completely after 清晰的ing your cache before attempting 再次访问该站点. In Windows, close all your browser windows; in Mac OS X, 退出浏览器.

On your computer, open 铬

Click More tools > Clear browsing data
At 顶部, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time
Next to “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached imaged and files”, check the boxes

The following steps outline how to add new phone numbers within BannerWeb. 请 note if your address, phone, and email address appear correct within BannerWeb you do not need to update the information.

访问BannerWeb-Student
Click on BannerWeb-Student
Log in using your single sign on credentials你r username will be the first part of your University Student email address before "@", and your password will be the same as signing into a computer on campus. If you have not logged into a computer on campus or have not changed your password, it will be your Student ID number.
Upon accessing the Student Dashboard click the 个人信息 Tile
From the 个人信息 page click add new to add a new cell phone number
From the Phone Type drop down menu select Cell
Enter Phone Number area code in the Area Code field
Enter the remaining of the phone number in the Phone Number Field
Click the Primary indicator
单击Add
Upon successful addition you will be redirected back to the 个人信息 page with a Saved Successfully notification with the Cell indicated as Primary

  1. Log into BannerWeb-Student with username and password
  2. Click the View Grades tile from the Student Landing Page
  3. Select a term to view grades for that term
  4. Select a student 水平 to view grades for that termNote: Multiple 水平s will 提交 if you have undergraduate and graduate records.
你 are also able to view details regarding your GPA, your primary curriculum, secondary (optional) and related course work. When clicking on View Details next to GPA Summary you will 提交 with Term specific GPA information:Selected Term – Term GPA by institutional course work by the selected student 水平
Institutional – Cumulative GPA of institutional course work for the selected student 水平
Transfer – Transfer GPA by the selected student 水平. 请 note you may or may not have transferred 课程 from prior institutions
Overall – The overall GPA by the selected student 水平
When clicking on View Details next to Primary Curriculum you will 提交 with 程序 related details such as 水平 (student 水平 can be Undergraduate or Graduate), college, degree being sought, 程序, campus, admit term, and major/minor.注意:您 may or may not have Secondary Curriculum associated with your student record for the 学期和学生水平.
Once grades have been viewed you are able to use the 首页 button to navigate back to the 登记 着陆页 or sign-out of the page.Note: If there are multiple student 水平s throughout your student life cycle (i.e. undergraduate and graduate) then you will be able to select a 学期和学生水平.

金融援助

 

  1. Log into BannerWeb-Student with username and password
  2. Click the 金融援助 tile from the Student Landing Page

  2. Click the 金融援助 tile from the Student Landing Page
  3. Click the 金融援助 Documents button
  4. Select the requirement from the Select Requirement drop-down
  5. Click the paperclip icon and attach a .PDF或图像文件
  6. (Optional) Add a comment to the file in the Comments button
  7. Click the Upload Document(s) button to submit the document(s)
To view a list of previously uploaded documents, click the My Documents tab along 顶部. To view the document, click the eye icon next to the corresponding document.

Different classifications of students register at 7:00am on different days. 看 Banner to see your classification, which is determined by the number of hours you have already earned and does not include the hours you are currently enrolled in.

Students must meet with their academic advisors so they can assist with choosing the 正确的课程. 你r primary advisor is listed on your Banner profile. 在这次会议之后, your advisor can remove your Advising 登记 Hold.

Note: ALT pins are only required for underclassmen (FR, SO, JR)  who are in the ROTC 程序. 你 can contact your advisor or the 注册商's Office to receive your PIN.

Make sure to check your Banner account regularly to ensure that you have no holds. Most holds will prevent you from registering for classes.
